Welcome to Future Choices

We provide a fun, safe, and welcoming space for adults with physical disabilities in Aberdeen to connect, socialise, and enjoy great company.

Run entirely by volunteers, our weekly sessions are all about social inclusion and community support. Whether you want to learn new skills or just have a good laugh, everyone is valued here.

What We Do at Our Sessions

Our Mission & Vision

Future Choices is a voluntary, user-led charity dedicated to providing social inclusion and recreational services for adults with disabilities in Aberdeen, as well as vital support for their carers and loved ones.

By organising weekly social sessions, community activities, and regular day trips, we focus on improving mental health and well-being—essentially breaking down the barriers of social isolation so everyone can feel valued, independent, and part of the community.

Our Core Objectives

A Word From Our Leader

"Future Choices began in November 2008, after the closure of the "Choices" day centre on Westburn Road due to local council cuts. That centre had been a lifeline for both the disabled community - offering social inclusion, recreational activities, and much needed respite for carers.

When it was disbanded, a group of determined individuals refused to let support vanish. They came together and created what is now a fully voluntary, self-funded charity that continues to thrive decades down the line.

For my mother, the centre has been transformative. It gave her independence, confidence, and a sense of belonging. Losing that was simply unacceptable. Future Choices was formed to fill that gap - to ensure that our community would always have a place to connect, grow and feel supported."
